I thought it would be fun to make a video showcasing a little bit of my daily life as a cellist. Contrary to what some might believe, a cellist’s life isn’t 100% focused on music. Sure, sometimes I’m thinking about the grandeur of a symphony or pondering the best way to phrase something, but other times, I’m getting excited after finding a really good deal on toothpaste, or calling customer service to track down a refund that some company owes me. Luckily, this video doesn’t cover anything THAT boring, but it does show the duality of music and regular old life. Are you a musician? If so, does your life look kind of like this? Let me know either way in the comments!
If you spend a lot of time on social media, you might know about the #GRWM (#GetReadyWithMe) trend. If you’re a fan of those videos and you want to see some short form content, check out this TikTok video I made.
Even if you head over to my TikTok, I encourage you to watch the whole YouTube video above, because it can give you a glimpse into professional orchestra life. How does a dress rehearsal work? What do I do to warm up beforehand? How do I deal with juggling the repertoire I need to learn? And, you can grab some inspiration for an easy tofu and spinach dish.
Thank you for this video! A walk through of a day for a professional cellist motivated me a lot to continue advancing my career👍
Glad to hear!
